Plus, we actually rerouted the internal wiring. We moved the “live” parts away from the areas where leaks are most likely to happen. It’s a simple change, but it makes a huge difference.
The Catch (And How to Handle It)
Here’s the thing: when you seal a box this tightly to keep water out, the heat has a harder time escaping. It’s a trade-off. Because there’s less passive airflow, the internals run a bit hotter. This is why you can’t just jam these units flush against a ceiling that doesn’t breathe. If there’s no room for air to move, the safety switch will trip to keep the unit from overheating. Just give it a little breathing room during installation, and you’re golden. It’s a fair trade. By combining these seals with high-grade quartz glass, we’ve seen these heaters last about 30% longer than the cheap, unsealed versions.
