We built these Krones heater lamps with one job in mind: to run on the Husky HyPET high-speed system. The aim is straightforward—give you deeper, stronger heating for bottle preforms, without forcing the line to slow down. This isn’t just another bulb. It’s a purpose-built thermal part, tuned to handle the heat and the pace of PET blowing.
Power, Voltage, and Fit: What It Does Under the Hood
In a HyPET setup, the heater has to hit temperature fast—and then hold it steady. So we built the lamp to pack a lot of heat into a small footprint. That way, the preform surface heats up quickly, and the inside follows right along. The voltage and wattage match the machine’s electrical design, so you get the infrared output you need without pulling too much current. And the length? It’s sized to match the heating zone exactly. You get full coverage—no hot spots, no cold edges.
Materials and Design: Built for the Grind
These lamps cycle hard during production, so we use quartz for serious thermal shock resistance. The shortwave halogen element gives you rapid response and output that stays stable. The coating is chosen to steer the energy where it matters—into the preform—instead of wasting heat sideways. For installation, we went with an R7s connector. It’s tough, proven, and locks in clean contact. That means the lamp is a simple, drop-in replacement.
Real-World Results: Speed, Consistency, and a Few Realities
High penetration means the preform heats evenly from the outside in. That helps keep wall thickness consistent and cuts down on rejects. On a Husky HyPET line, you get stable heating even at high speed, fewer stops due to temperature drift, and lamp replacements that follow a predictable rhythm. But here’s the trade-off: that higher power density means the machine’s cooling and airflow have to be set up properly. If cooling is undersized, ambient heat builds up—and that shortens component life. Match the lamp to the system, and the heating performance stays solid.
