Spec the wattage to your zone: 300–1,200 W, 24–240 V, with lengths that clear the reflector without shadowing. Fingerprints on the quartz create hot spots and shorten life—use clean gloves and isopropyl alcohol before install. Align the filament to the reflector’s focal line; misalignment wastes energy and gives you uneven heating. Check your reflector condition—pitting and oxidation scatter IR and defeat even the best lamp. Plan replacements during scheduled maintenance. Fast response only matters when the whole heating system is in spec.
