It’s usually the same story: mechanical stress or a sudden thermal shock kills the lamp, and suddenly your production is at a standstill. We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out why Sidel and Krones-style ovens eat through lamps, and we built our replacements to actually handle the abuse. The heat game These lamps pull a lot of wattage. That’s necessary because those PET preforms have to hit a very specific temperature before they can be blown. High voltage means a concentrated blast of heat, which is great for keeping your cycle times fast. But there’s a catch. When you crank up the wattage to push more throughput, you’re putting a lot more pressure on your power supply. It also dumps more heat into the oven chassis. Seriously—**keep your cooling fans clean.**If they’re clogged, your sockets will melt. It’s that simple. Tougher glass, fewer breaks Most standard lamps fail right at the pinch seal. They just can’t handle the vibration or the rapid temperature swings of a working floor. To fix this, we use heavy-wall quartz glass. We also tweaked the seal geometry so the glass doesn’t crack when the oven’s mounting clips squeeze down on it. The best part? They’re drop-in replacements. You don’t have to mess with your wiring or swap out brackets. Just pop them in and go. The trade-off Now, here is the honest truth: thicker glass can slightly change how the infrared heat gets through. You might find you need to nudge your heating profiles up or down by 1-2% to get the preform temperature exactly where you want it. It’s a tiny tweak.
